About Us

Corey Bowers, a 33-year-old from Lafayette, Louisiana, is the visionary founder of Mecca Recovery Solutions. His journey to recovery has been marked by determination, resilience, and profound personal transformation. Corey began abusing alcohol and pharmaceuticals in his teens. After facing the consequences of drug addiction and alcoholism at a young age, Corey first got sober at the age of 19, maintaining sobriety for 6.5 years. However, his path took a challenging turn after his period of sobriety when he faced multiple relapses. Corey was introduced to, and began using, harder substances off the streets. Opiates and alcohol took a strong hold of Corey. During this period, Corey cycled through detoxes, treatments, and sober living environments, struggling to regain a foothold in his recovery.

His turning point came on October 29, 2021, when a near-fatal overdose brought him to the brink of death. Corey spent nearly two months in the hospital, a critical period that gave him the clarity and determination to fully commit to his sobriety. Corey’s path to recovery deepened when a dear friend reached out, assisting him in seeking treatment south of Dallas. This connection proved pivotal, as Corey completed the treatment and then transitioned to a highly-structured sober living environment in North Dallas. It was during his time in this sober living program that Corey thrived, first as a resident, then as a house manager, and eventually rising to the role of director.

This experience gave him a profound sense of purpose and passion for helping others in recovery. Seeing firsthand the impact that structured support systems had on his own journey, Corey had a passion and dream and with full support from his partners and co-founders, Zachary Conti and Michael Williamson, they founded Mecca Recovery Solutions. His goal is to create a program that not only mirrors the success he found but also offers a compassionate and effective approach to sobriety for those struggling with addiction.

Corey is deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of Mecca Recovery Solutions. His hands-on approach ensures that every aspect of the program’s structure is functioning smoothly and that residents will receive the highest quality of care. By overseeing the operations himself, Corey will ensure that each resident’s experience is positive, supportive, and aligned with the program’s mission. His commitment to being actively engaged allows him to provide first-hand guidance, ensuring that Mecca’s environment fosters growth and lasting sobriety.

In his free time, Corey remains actively involved in the 12-step recovery community, where he dedicates himself to helping other men on a personal level. He finds joy in supporting the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints, showing his love for his home state. Corey also makes it a priority to visit his family in South Louisiana whenever possible, as they continue to be his biggest supporters throughout his journey.

Corey has always envisioned a place where men can find a safe haven to rebuild their lives, and that vision became a reality with this program. His approach combines empathy and structure, ensuring that residents receive both support and accountability. Under his leadership, we foster an environment that encourages honesty, trust, and mutual respect.

Our program not only focuses on sobriety but also emphasizes the importance of personal growth and self-discovery.
